Biography

Satybaldy Zhalelovich Narymbetov (Kazakh: Сатыбалды Жәлелұлы Нарымбетов; born 8 March 1946 - 8 July 2021; Achisai) was a Soviet and Kazakh film director and screenwriter. Honored Worker of Kazakhstan (2005). Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1996).Graduated from the script department of VGIK (1969); Higher courses of screenwriters and directors at the USSR State Cinema (workshop of the People's Artist of the USSR G. Danelia, 1984). Since 1973 he has been a member of the USSR Cinematographers' Union. He was a member of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan.He died on July 8, 2021, and was buried at the Kensai-2 cemetery.
