Biography

Rick started his professional career with Andy Gibb and has beentouring Australia and the world ever since. Among the many gigs in acareer that spans 3 plus decades you can include international artistsJeff ‘Skunk’ Baxter, (Steely Dan & Doobie Bros.) and Glenn Shorrock,(Little River Band) as well as iconic Australian acts including Dragon,Jon Stevens, Stevie Wright, Marc Hunter, Brian Cadd, Doug Parkinson andJimmy Little. Over the years there have also been countless solo showsboth in Australia and the USA. Although Rick has played on scores ofrecordings he has a very special place in his heart for his professionaland personal relationship with the late John Denver which culminated inthe piano and orchestra recording of the international hit single ‘ForYou’.From 1985-91 Rick was the managing partner in Reel Time, aprofessional recording studio in Sydney which hosted many of Australia’spremier musical artists and it was there that he got a chance tosharpen both his technical and artistic/production skills. From 1991 hefollowed the trend to a smaller more personal facility where hecontinues to record and produce music both for himself and others forall kinds of projects: independent and record company artists, as wellas television and film which has also consistently featured in hiscapacity as a composer. In the late 1980′s he c0-wrote the theme songfor the 26 part TV serial ‘Willing & Abel’ and currently he has thetheme music for the long running sports series ‘Escaping With ET’ onair. The eco documentary special ‘Australian Adventure’ is set forinternational release in 2010 and he has incidental as well as recordingcredits. The country single ‘Where Do Old Cowboys Go’ which he alsoco-wrote spent 7 weeks at #1 on the Australian charts and was nominatedfor a Golden Guitar (kinda like the Grammy’s for Aussie country music.)
